Laying out The laying out of greentex® is easy. The rolls that are about 15m long are loosely rolled out on the landscape. It is of utmost importance that some folds are foreseen as the natural sisal fabric has a shrinkage of about 10% after the first rain. At half roll lengths (7.5m) a herringbone-like ditch are dug to reduce the tension of the sisal fabric. The anchoring of greentex is made with steel nails of 80cm, an additional fixation with willow rods improves the success.
Transportation In order to transport greentex and different tools like a compressor and iron nails, a material-cable-car was installed.
Objective

- mechanical stabilization of the area with the help of the sisal fabric

- absorbance and storage of rain-water with the help of the cellulosic fleece

- regreening of the eroded area with the help of regional seed-blends of 24 different components like deep rooters and wide-spead rooters.

- reasonable recultivation of an area which was said to be ir-repairable.
